Thank youWinchester for three years of support!
The Black Horse Tavern was a lifelong family
dream that became a reality. My husband
Jimmy and I spent countless hours of planning
and work, from the beginning stages of finding
the right location, to the year-long process of
designing and building the space, and then to the
opening in August 2010. We gave it everything
we had, and fortunately the townspeople have
supported us. We are excited every day to share
our foods, to see everybody enjoying friends, and
to have created what people tell us is “a place
that was desperately needed in our town”.
Our Main Menu is varied and offers fresh
foods that appeal to many different palates,
from our half-pound Angus Burgers to our fresh
fish delivered daily from Gloucester. The majority
of our recipes are family favorites, with many
coming from Kim’s mom, Linda (whom you will
find in the kitchen on most days).
One of our favorite memories continues to
be that snowy winter day, with the fireplace
glowing, when we had a family of snowshoers
walk down for an early dinner and leave their
snowshoes leaning against the lit tree outside. It
seemed so magical then, and still does today.
